About RADO


Rado is a Swiss watchmaking company, with headquarters in Lengnau, Switzerland. The company that was founded in 1917 was able to launch the first scratch-resistant watch to the world – the 1962 DiaStar. The company received awards including the Red Dot Award, the iF Design Award, and the Good Design Award. Today the company produces about half a million watches a year with a staff of about 470 in total. In 1995, Rado was awarded the innovation prize from the Technology Venter Switzerland for the development of their Rado Concept 1. The manufacturing process of the horological piece was the very first to utilize a polycrystalline diamond.


Rado is a globally recognized brand, famous for innovative design and its use of revolutionary materials to create some of the world’s most beautiful and durable watches. Ever since its beginnings in Lengnau, Switzerland, Rado has been a pioneer, with the brand philosophy “if we can imagine it, we can make it” still holds true today.
